The "BASEMENT TAPES" PROJECT Goes to Erie

Howard and the band recently performed a one-night-only version of the "Basement Tapes" Project at Mercyhurst Institute in Erie, PA.

Read about the show in the ERIE READER (where it made the top of the paper's "TO DO" list") and in the ERIE TIMES NEWS.

Go onto Facebook to see a shot of the band hanging out backstage. That's Mazz Swift, Jeremy "Bean" Clemons, Howard, and Scott Barkan standing (L to R), and our man Nathan Peck sitting down after a long day.

NO FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS is a multimedia song cycle centered around Howard Fishman's true-life adventures in rural Romania with his childhood friend (and New York Times travel journalist/photographer) Michael Benanav.  The project combines original music, historical memoir, storytelling and photography to essay their exploits together in far-flung Eastern Europe.

MANNA-HATA opens tonight!

Peculiar Works Project's MANNA-HATA, featuring ten all-new original Howard Fishman songs, opens June 7 (tonight!) and runs until June 23rd.

The multimedia theater experience is being staged in spaces throughout the gigantic James A. Farley Post Office (across from Penn Station), a mostly vacant building pegged as the future home of the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Station.

MANNA-HATA was written by playwright Barry Rowell and is directed by Kathleen Amshoff, and features original movement, choreography, film and singing by a large ensemble of actors, singers and dancers.

Opening night is sold out, but tickets still remain for the remainder of the run. Get them here.
