With the holiday season upon us, lots of folks have been writing in wondering why they're having so much trouble ordering HFQ CDs from their local retailers. Well, we've had some bad luck with our distributors -- one filed for bankruptcy and the other just didn't work out, so for the moment the band has no distribution deal in place. You can still buy the CDs right here on our site, though -- just go to the shop page and start shopping! It's fast, easy and absolutely safe.
Howard Fishman Trio at the Knickerbocker
Howard returns for another engagement this month at the city's storied jazz room THE KNICKERBOCKER on December 18-20. Sets will be all acoustic and will feature violinist Jenny Scheinman each night (Jenny's recent collaborators have included Bill Frissell, Norah Jones and Marc Ribot). Howard and Jenny will be joined on bass by a different player each night; Jim Whitney, Tom Hubbard and Greg Cohen, respectively. Expect a jazz and standards repertoire with a sprinkling of originals and blues.
Los Angeles Debut!
Yes folks, after years of our Californian fans clamoring for the band to visit the West Coast, it's finally going to happen! The band will be in town in the second week of January to do some recording and will make its LA DEBUT on January 14 and 15 at a venue to be announced. Stay tuned!
End of the (Bottom) Line?
On Saturday, December 27 the band makes what could well be its last Bottom Line appearance with a special show at 8pm. As many of you know, club is facing imminent eviction (for more info and to sign he petition to save it, go to www.savethebottomline.com, just click the link at top.). Allan Pepper and The Bottom Line have been staunch supporters of HFQ and we don't want to see them go. Please come down on the 27th and show your support!
